Happy Birthday Sophie~ / 17:06

Recently its 雪樱樱's birthday and i guess, itz drawing time =D



Being with the current Art Circle Lilium is great... gets to learn alot from them.. I guess, this drawing is trying to copy Naru Nanao's style of drawing... first attempt... dunno if itz bad or not

and going thru referenes, i kinda like this drawing with black and white color only.. so i decide to make this like that... i guess it looks gloomy lol =____=

so yeah.. itz black/white style color with Naru Nanao's style of Akiyama Mio

and then below is some crappy txt i write of Lilium congraduating Sophie's birthday

‘Ah…’
Opening her eyes, she woke up from weird dream into reality. Staring at the whitewash ceiling, she places her hand onto her head.
Still not satisfied with sleep, she rolled around and buried her face into the pillow. Hugging the whole pillow, she starts to roll on her bed in an unease mood.
‘Just 5 minute more…’
This is reality; there is no childhood friend to come wake her up from sleep.
Thinking more deep into how someone will come wake her up, she forgot to stop herself from rolling off the bed.
‘Ouch…’
Bumping her head right into the bedside drawer before she rolled off, she touched her head a bit before spreading out her arm in an eagle like pose.
‘Bored…’
Again looking up at the ceiling, she sighed.
‘We will sing utauyo! Kanjiru sono mama!’
Somehow, a melody could be heard and the drawer next to her starts to shake.
She got up in a hurry banging her head again. Ouch, it is the same spot. But then, despite rubbing her head again, she noticed her mobile phone is all lit up.
‘Lilium… What is wrong?’
‘Hey Sophie, you awake yet?’
‘Ya, I just woke up…’
‘Ahaha… I was just thinking of going over your place to give you a morning kiss.’
‘Is it really morning now?’
‘Um, not really. But then, for you it is morning so it doesn’t matter.’
‘What time is it?’
‘Eh? You haven’t looked at the clock? It is already 5pm…’
‘Ah, I see, so I spent an all nighter again.’
She looked over straight ahead of her and noticed her familiar laptop and Wacom tablet. Looks like she got carried away drawing and then, she got too tired that she just dropped dead.
‘Ah, moshi moshi? Are you still awake?’
‘Kinda…’
‘Um anyway, you got anything later tonight?’
‘Not really, why?’
‘Um, come to my place later. I will be cooking tonight!’
‘Ah… again?’
She knows Lilium is hyperactive but, she is most hyperactive when she cooks. It wasn’t the quality that she feared of her cooking but it is the amount. Lilium would time to time invite her over for lunch or dinner where she will cook an extraordinary amount of food that every time she eats, she don’t have to eat anything the next day. Thanks to her, she has gained quite a bit of weight. Miracle thing is, Lilium seems to never get fat and her weight has never gained.
‘Yeah, anyway, don’t miss out please. Come over at 7pm. Anyway, I am kinda busy in the market now so I catch up with you later~ Bye~’
‘Um… Wait…’
And then, she will quickly blurt out stuff and quickly end it that there is no chance for her to decline. She sighed again and throws her mobile onto her bed.
She has not completely wake up but then, she starts to come into sense of her surroundings. This is her room. It isn’t big but nor small. She turned her head to the right side and saw a book shelf. There lies her vase collection of manga and novels. Raising her head, she sees a few figurines lying there. She stood up and dropped backward onto her bed.
Around the wall of her room, there is various poster of different moe art. This is her room. The room she stares at everyday but also her precious room where she is use to.
This was her everyday life. She would wake up to draw artwork as her job and when she gets bored, she would be watching anime or rolling on her bed reading a random manga. Getting input of food into her system was also important and apart from that, she got use to sleep really late into the night and waking up in the afternoon.
Last night she was rushing her work that was due today. All that she needs to do is finished. Emailing his contractor at 6am in the morning definitely wasn’t the best she has hoped for. But then, it is always like this. She only ends up doing it well on a last minute rush.
So it is 5pm already, what can she do for 3 hours before handing over to Lilium’s place? Suddenly, she feels her eyes burns a bit.
She looks to her right and notice the setting sun. She usually leave her window open because the room is stuffy if it is not open and time to time, she would leave her blind up as well.
She now noticed the room is pretty warm and bath crimson red by the sun. Now thinking about it, she notice that she has been woke up by the sharp afternoon sun.
Now noticing the eye blinding flare outside, she has to cover her eyes to look outside. That was when she sits on her on bed looking amazed. She do not usually notice the scenery outside when the sun is setting. The whole town seems to be in a quiet harmony with the autumn sun. All trees around the town had turned red and with the sun as their background, she just could not stop looking at this scene.
Sophie’s mouth suddenly curled to a smile and she bounced up from her bed. She starts to search through her working table for her camera.
This for her was a motivation to start her next drawing. Sunset in Autumn. Even though, everyday for her is not much difference, but somehow, there is always something different in her everyday to make life interesting.

She dropped back down on her bed.
It was 6:45 already. Lilium’s place is only the building that is next to this building so it only takes 5 minute walk.
She managed to capture the scene down and have gone and doodle a draft of the background already.
Now that dinner time has drawn close, there is no time for her to concentrate on colour and shading.
Taking her mobile and house key, she left her single room studio room.
She would only need to walk from this apartment to the apartment dorm next to it for her dinner. Her meeting with Lilium was quite unique but now that she get fed by Lilium time to time, she is quite happy about having a friend like her.
Reaching Lilium’s room in the second floor, she knocks on the door.
‘Hai! Who is it??’
A voice that sounds busy could be heard on the other side.
‘Konbanwa, it is Sophie here…’
‘Ah… The door is not locked, come in…’
She could hear the voice pretty close to the door but she didn’t open the door. Something seems weird but she automatically put her hand onto the door handle and turned.
The door opened into pitch darkness.
‘Huh?’
Wait, something happened to Lilium? Why is it so dark?
With instinct to check out her friend, she quickly took a step into the room and prepare to dash deeper into the room but…
‘Pop!’
A loud popping sound could be heard suddenly and she could swear she saw something flashed but it doesn’t matter to her anymore. Her auto instinct was to raise both her arm up to protect her face.
She felt something cold scattered onto her face but after standing there guarding her face for a few second. She noticed it was not something harming.
‘Happy Birthday Sophie!’
Sophie opened her eyes and through the gap in her arms, she sees a girl standing in front of her.
The light has been turned on so she could see her clearly. A girl with a side pony tail holding a popper. There was a guitar hanging from her neck and she quickly indentifies it as a Fender Mustang. The girl in front of her is cosplaying as Azusa Nakano from K-ON.
So it is my birthday today? Sophie felt a tinge of happiness flowing through her nerves. A single tear dropped down her eyes and she jumped at the girl in front of her.
‘Thanks Lilium~’
‘Ah… Don’t suddenly start crying when you see me…’
It doesn’t matter because she is too happy and she just stays clinging to the cosplaying girl in front of her.
Thinking it would just be a normal day as usual, today was much different to usual because this was the biggest difference. She has her good friend that knows all about her. She is having a party with her best friend in cosplay. And best of her, it was her birthday.

Both of them sat down in the short table in Lilium’s room enjoying the ice cream she had bought. Then Sophie just remembered something.
‘Lilium…’
‘Yes?’ smiling to her sudden remark, she seems so cute that way that she wants to hug her again. But then, Sophie refrained her action and coughed once.
‘It is my birthday next Friday…’
Lilium just stare blankly at her for a few second.
‘…’
‘…’
‘EH!?!?!?!?!?!’
That was when Lilium goes on a rampage but it wasn’t long before Sophie suppress her down.
Smiling to Lilium in her arms, she murmured in her ears.
‘But thank you so much, this is my best birthday.’

Taking a box from under her bed, Lilium put it in front of Sophie.
‘This is your birthday present! Unwrap it please~’
Scratching her face to her smiling face, she goes ahead and opens the strings on it. After opening the box, she notices it was a beautiful hand knitted scarf.
‘Ah! You made this all by yourself?’
Noticing bruises on her fingers, she jumps at Lilium again.
‘Ah… Don’t hug me suddenly like this!’
Lilium pushed her back and this time, her eyes flashed. She took out another box under her bed.
‘And this is a bonus present for you…’
A strong killing intent could be felt by Sophie and she knows there is something real bad in it.
‘Ah… What is it you got there Lilium?’
She half smiled and took the second box from her.
‘Don’t worry, just open it! You will like it!’
She starts to laugh like an ojisan.
Opening the box, she notice it was a costume.
It was a cosplay costume of Mio Akiyama. She looked up at Lilium in her KON costume and look back down.
‘Ah… You want me to wear it now…’
‘BING BONG!’
Looking at the sparkling eyes that Lilium is putting up, Sophie sweat a few beads. She decide to turn away and look for a way out.
‘Can I use the bathroom?’
‘We are girls you know? Want me to help you.’
She again sees her eyes flash.
It was definitely a random day with lots of random events but it was definitely one of her best day. Apart from the fact that she get stripped bare by Lilium but it was all fun in the end.
‘Lets take a photo together!’
Both of them in KON costume, they set the camera to 10 second on a table and both of them got in front of the camera.
‘Cheers!’
‘Kacha…’
